12 Days, 3 Networks and No Mention of ClimateGate Scandal
12 Days, 3 Networks and No Mention of ClimateGate Scandal
Quote:It’s been nearly two weeks since a scandal shook many people’s faith in the scientists behind global warming alarmism. The scandal forced the University of East Anglia (UK) to divulge that it threw away raw temperature data and prompted the temporary resignation of Phil Jones of the university’s Climate Research Unit. But, the Daily Show (Jon Stewart) took time to mention it: Quote:The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" produced its "reporting" on Climate-gate Tuesday night, when Stewart quipped, "Poor Al Gore. Global warming completely debunked via the very Internet you invented. Oh, oh, the irony!" (Note: the video is no longer on youtube citing "Viacom" copyright claims.) Remember, these are the media outlets that claimed a "consensus". They wouldn't want you to discover that that "consensus" is founded on false data, so it isn't surprising they are helping to keep the information minimized, is it? I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant! |

(12-03-2009 02:25 PM)JohnWho Wrote: 12 Days, 3 Networks and No Mention of ClimateGate Scandal I've said it before, but it bears repeating: The media is so politically vested in AGW being true that they will never report any significant evidence to the contrary. Never. Ever. Forget about it. And that's why the media in its current state cannot be allowed to survive. It must be destroyed. |

But I doubt anyone will notice. When is the last time the media took responsibility for any of the various "scares" they have been a part of over the years? Their normal operating procedure when contrary evidence appears is silence. That's unfortunately not a unique thing here. One positive note. It appears that Fox News is finally starting to air it on their regular newscasts (last week it was absent everytime I tuned in to check...only their "opinion" guys were covering it). I turned them on this morning and they were talking about the exact topic of this thread. I realize they are doing this for their benefit ("See? The other networks suck!")....but I'll take it. I also heard FoxNews is killing everyone else in the ratings. Here The other networks just don't seem to be able to figure out why. Maybe it's because you guys don't cover the news? (Tiger Woods is news but this isn't?) edit: It just occurred to me that the "big three" networks will probably find a real desire to cover this story....if the CRU investigation turns out in their favor. I'm guessing they'll have it in big bold letters should that scenario come to pass. |

RE: 12 Days, 3 Networks and No Mention of ClimateGate Scandal
I'll give a good example of 2 extremes.
In our city, we have 2 local newspapers, Calgary Sun and the Calgary Herald. The Sun's editorial has written articles on climategate, and stating what a sham it is. On the other hand, the Herald has not mentioned it at all. You can guess which newspaper I read the most (and it isn't the Herald). My other concern is : despite climategate, the world leaders are still going forward with copenhagen. I am very concerned about mankind's future on this planet thanks to the greenies. I can see gov'ts impose ridiculous policies to curb emissions for no other reason than to garner votes and impose a new tax scheme. |

I wonder how many of these leaders,go beyond the old line media news sources? The people who vote are getting it now and they must be beginning to wonder about their idiot leaders who seems oblivious to the AGW scam being blown wide open. The fall out will continue for a long time. The internet is a lot faster than the decaying old line media. It is our attitude toward free thought and free expression that will determine our fate. There must be no limit on the range of temperate discussion, no limits on thought. No subject must be taboo. No censor must preside at our assemblies. –William O. I have a strong suspicion that the leaders don't follow too many news, but do listen to their advisors. I can also bet these advisor do follow the news but also follow polls, and to save their own jobs they will advise the leaders what to decide based on public opinion, not what is true. Despite the scandal, I have yet to see any tv networks/newspapers (sans Calgary Sun) mention anything or cast any doubt about man made global warming. I use this analogy : it is like giving Nazis free reign to spread hate around the world despite knowing what is true. |
