Uploading pdfs and excel sheets to the forum.
Hi All,
OK so you write a post in the box that pops up when you reply to a post or start a new thread.
How do you upload a pdf at the same time.
Click on additional options at the bottom left of the page,
a series of options and boxes appears.
Below theses boxes / options there is also Attach: a box and then a browse button.
Using the browse window that opens, find and open the appropriate pdf.
I have just found out the pdf I want to attach is too large (500 kb),
the size limit is 128kb, so I'll add this (90.1kb) one instead.
:-X
Writing the post all you see of the attachment is : - X
when posted it looks as above.
The attachment appears at the bottom of the post,
but does not show up in "preview".

Re: Uploading pdfs and excel sheets to the forum.
Now my next obvious question, how do I split up a 500kb pdf to post as four smaller pdfs.
Or does the size limit need to be bigger. ?
The excel sheets I intended posting are nearer 1.5Mb, but they needed tidying before posting anyway.
I'll try posting an excel sheet to see if the above process works for them as well.
Apparently the technique works, but,
.xls file types are not allowed.
128kb is a bit small as well.

I increased it to 600 kb.
Now you should be able to post the entire PDF
AGW is a hypothesis that cannot be falsified is supported by falsified evidence.

Thank you, that should make it easy to upload pdfs of a maximum of
very roughly (I'm guessing) about 25 pages.
Have you had time to look at the .xls files (ie excel) not being allowed yet. ?
This may seem "greedy" but could the allowed file sizes for
pdfs and excels be nearer 1.5 and 2 Mb respectively. ?
For example I'm thinking of the excellant pdf,
Minister Wongs Reply to Senator Fieldings
Three Questions on Climate Change Due Diligence
Contributors1
Bob Carter
David Evans
Stewart Franks
William Kininmonth
that is 1.34Mb for instance.

I know you think you understand what you thought I said,
but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!
