Climate change PDF
Geological perspectives of global climate change
It is our attitude toward free thought and free expression that will determine our fate. There must be no limit on the range of temperate discussion, no limits on thought. No subject must be taboo. No censor must preside at our assemblies. –William O. Douglas, U.S. Supreme Court Justice, 1952 |

RE: Climate change PDF
If I've missed something obvious, my apologies, but
who is the author of the above excellant pdf? The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. H. L. Mencken. The hobgoblins have to be imaginary so that "they" can offer their solutions, not THE solutions. |

RE: Climate change PDF
Errr, I have taken the time to have a second slower read of the pdf.
I am not too sure of it now. Just a couple of examples. 1) As far as I am aware virtually all temperature reconstructions of the present interglacial show a decline in temperature over the last 10,000 years. Yes, it is in peaks and troughs, but overall the temperature is slowly declining, so this early excerpt stands out to me, especially the part of the excerpt I have underlined... " We currently are living in a not-yet-completed interglacial stage, and it is very likely that warmer conditions lie ahead for humanity, with or without any human interference. Interglacial stages appear to last for about 11,000 years, but with large individual variability. We have been in this interglacial for about 10,000 years (Gerhard, et al., 2001). " 2) The order of the "climate controls" or climate drivers. CO2 is listed first, and it is stated the level of CO2 were 18 times higher in the past. But no temperature effect given, there are for all the other "classes" of "climate comtrols"..... I also wonder how a geologist tells us which are the climate controls, I hope they rely on more than correlation with their records... 3) Read through the "Coralline sponges" section. 2,000 years, and something with many factors effecting the growth rings but only one factor of interest...Other facotrs ignored / dismissed.. I think I get the faint wiff of a new improved "Hockey Stick" being suggested, or in the making.. Oh, and elsewhere within the piece ice cores are very good and reliable too............Don't tell Q_C. RE: Climate change PDF
Explorer shows the author as SINGH, might that be Singh, A.K. mentioned in many papers in the references?
